announce the launch of their new diabetes website,
D-is-for-Diabetes.
The mission of
D-is-for-Diabetes
will be to provide information about
diabetes for patients and their families, to offer useful advice about the prevention
and management of diabetic complications, and
to provide resources for patients, families, diabetes educators and
other health care professionals.
At the time of launch, the website includes:
- over 100 webpages containing information about diabetes and related conditions.
- over 270 commentaries about diabetes, written by Dr Quick over the past few years and republished here.
- over 110 press releases concerning diabetes.
- a comprehensive diabetes dictionary and a comprehensive listing of diabetes abbreviations.
"Greater awareness of diabetes and the availability of new treatments for people
with diabetes
is clearly needed,” Bill said.
Stephanie added, “it is our responsibility as diabetes healthcare professionals, and as patients
and family members, to spread the message that diabetes is something you can live with."
